Processing the T.T. Wendell Photograph Collection at the Kentucky Historical Society

Due to my schedule, I am only able to take on a limited number of clients at this time. My areas of expertise include: midwest/south genealogy, 18th-20th century periods, Civil War, American Revolution, African American, Appalachia, Archival care/preservation, Cemeteries. Over 25+ years, I have had experience researching in various types of repositories including: Archives, libraries, courthouses, state repositories, universities, historical/genealogical societies, New York Public Library, Allen County Public Library, and the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. Various service options are featured below, and follow the standard rate of $50 per hour plus expenses. (50% retainer required prior to work inception – discounts apply for long projects:30+ hours – PayPal accepted)

Research (Minimum 5 hours):

Standard genealogy/local history research includes:

  • Consultation/Research project analysis
  • Research
  • Full report with sources and sources consulted list attached – including a research narrative for sharing with family and future research recommendations

Consultation (Minimum 2 hours):

This category can cover various types of issues:

  • Second set of eyes on your research to see gaps or get research directional advice
  • Small needs (cemetery visit, record look-up, contextual advice)
  • Archival care (photographs, documents, books)
  • Organizational advice/Project Management

Coaching (Minimum 8 hours):

This is one of my favorite options because it offers a more engaging form of education. As a flexible option, it is designed for both the beginner and the seasoned researcher. Specialties include:
